Acupuncture continued . . .

at predictable locations on the skin's surface that communicated with the meridians and therefore had the ability to affect core physiological processes and functions. They called theses locations acupuncture points. These are the same body points that modern practitioners still use.

In acupuncture treatment small, thin, sterile needles are gently placed superficially into the skin at specific points along the meridians. This age old technique helps to stimulate the circulation of Qi and invigorate the body's natural ability to bring the body, mind and spirit back into balance. Most patients find the treatments very relaxing and highly effective.

Does Acupuncture Work?

Not only does acupuncture work: thousands of research studies from all over the world have concluded that acupuncture is one of the safest and most effective treatments available for a wide variety of conditions, most notably painful conditions like back pain, neck pain, shoulder pain, painful periods, headaches, and carpal tunnel syndrome (also known as repetitive strain injury).  The World Health Organization has officially recognized acupuncture as an effective treatment, and acupuncture is used in hospitals across the United States.  I will be happy to discuss with you whether acupuncture might be helpful for your specific condition.
